I just finished an article for Nikon, and they have published it at Nikon Learn and Explore, a fantastic resource for all things photography. If you have not visited this website (doesn’t matter what brand of camera you use), you should check out the volumes to tips, techniques and creative ideas at this site…hundreds of great topics.
My latest story for Nikon puts a new twist on the familiar exposure triangle. Many photographers remember this classic learning tool…shutter speed, aperture and ISO all contribute to the final exposure. But what about a “creativity exposure triangle”? I took a long look at how we teach creativity on photo workshops, and tried to come up with a tangible framework that might help photographers improve their creativity and overall vision. The base elements of my composition triangle are camera craft and graphic design. With more proficiency in these two areas, you are better able to reach your vision, the bigger picture of your overall photographic style. I also include some exercises to improve these areas. Take a look at my full story here. Have a great weekend!
